Marc Spector, alias Moon Knight, ne fait pas partie des héros les plus connus de l'univers Marvel, mais quand il est entre de bonnes mains, il sait faire des étincelles. Ici, nous retrouvons cet ancien de la Guerre du Golfe alors qu'il a remporté une victoire contre Bushman, son ennemi juré. Charlie Huston (Moon Knight) et Lan Medina (Foolkiller) réinventent avec cette mini-série, un personnage secondaire de l'univers Marvel, qui a longtemps été laissé de côté : Deathlok le Démolisseur.
Du concept d'origine, on ne garde que le principe d'un cyborg venant du futur, qui n'est pas sans rappeler un certain Terminator. Ici, nulle trace de l'univers Marvel actuel et de nos héros habituels :
Deathlok évolue dans un futur où les guerres se règlent dans des émissions télévisées, au cours de combats entre super-soldats lourdement armés !
C'est Mike Benson, un scénariste de télévision qui fait ici ses premiers pas dans l'univers des comics, et Mark Texeira, un spécialiste des héros solitaires et violents, qui décident dans ce troisième opus, du destin de Moon Knight.
Comme tous les super-héros de l'univers Marvel, Moon Knight n'a pas échappé aux conséquences de Civil War et fait donc désormais partie des héros enregistrés auprès du gouvernement. Cet album se concentre sur l'aptitude - ou plus exactement sur l'inaptitude - de ce héros psychotique à travailler sous l'égide des autorités officielles. En plus des tensions qui l'opposent à son nouveau « patron », Tony Stark alias Iron Man, il doit aussi faire face à la réapparition de Black Spectre, un ennemi qui ne lui souhaite pas que du bien !
Après quelques temps d'absence, Moon Knight revient plus déchaîné que jamais. Mais Iron Man est bien décidé à le convaincre de se rallier à sa cause en devenant un super-héros légitime. Moon Knight est habitué à suivre ses propres règles, et s'il refuse, il le paiera cher. Acceptera-t-il ? Cet album accueille le premier volet de la longue aventure Dieu et la patrie écrite par Charlie Huston et Mike Benson et dessinée par les légendaires Mark Texeira et Javier Saltares. Avec les os recouverts d'adamantium et une remarquable capacité de guérison, Wolverine est pratiquement invincible.
Mais ces incroyables facultés attisent la convoitise d'un certain Winsor, une véritable bombe bactériologique ! Ce dernier va alors tester les limites de Logan en le soumettant aux plus horribles expériences.
Moon Knight revient alors que d'étranges individus, qui se sont jurés d'éliminer Marc Spector, envoient le Maitre de Corvée à ses trousses. Ancien super-héros, Spector est un homme brisé, aussi bien physiquement que mentalement. Aura-t-il encore les moyens de se défendre ?
