Tout le monde se souvient du générique énergique de la série Le Frelon Vert, qui avait été repris dans Kill Bill de Tarantino.
Le héros, flanqué de son compagnon d'armes Kato (magnifiquement interprété dans la série télévisée par le grand maître d'arts martiaux, Bruce Lee) s'apprête à connaître une véritable résurrection au cinéma. La faute au frenchie surdoué Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), avec Seth Rogen (En Cloque) dans le rôle-titre. Mais avant que ce projet ne se concrétise, c'est Kevin Smith, réalisateur de Dogma et scénariste réputé de comics (Daredevil, Green Arrow) qui devait s'atteler à l'adaptation cinématographique du personnage.
Smith a finalement abandonné devant l'ampleur du projet, mais Dynamite vous propose aujourd'hui de découvrir «son» Frelon Vert tel qu'il l'aurait réalisé, dans un album illustré par Jonathan Lau. Une démarche pour le moins originale !

Côté librairie, le Green Hornet de Kevin Smith (réalisateur de Dogma et scénariste réputé de comics comme Daredevil ou Green Arrow) n'a rien à lui envier. L'accueil du premier tome a été très enthousiaste.
Les lecteurs seront donc heureux de découvrir le deuxième tome de cette saga, illustrée par Jonathan Lau. Green Hornet et Kato y affrontent Black Hornet, un terrible vilain.
